(Dromana Common Equity Rental Housing Co-operative Ltd.)

 

Dromana CERC Ltd was first registered as a Co-operative under the Co-operative Act 1981 (Reg. No. G304D) on the 31st October 1995 and at the 31st December 2017 leases ten properties from Common Equity Housing Limited and rents them to its members.

 

Board of Directors: (Meets 3rd Tuesday each month - January and July excepted.)

The CERC elects a group of directors (5) to manage the day-to-day operations of their CERC. Directors are usually elected for two-year terms with half of the Directors standing down each year. (3 one year; 2 next year)

Directors also hold office-bearing roles, taking responsibility for co-ordinating a particular area of the CERCs business. These roles may include:

  • Chairperson

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • Rent Officer

  • Maintenance Co-ordinator

Eligibility of Director:

  • Prime member of Co-operative

  • Over 18 years of age.

  • Not declared bankrupt

  • Not incur court order against holding position.

Maintenance Committee: (Meets 2nd Tuesday each month - January and July excepted.)

Responsible for considering recommendations for maintenance of properties (other than 3rd Schedule) to the Board of Directors for approval.

In accordance with Policy No: 26 it is mandatory for all members (other than Directors) to attend Maintenance Committee meetings.

 

Finance Committee:

Responsible for the receipts and expenditure of the Co-operative; working closely with the Maintenance Committee.

Responsible for interviewing and assessing prospective tenants.
